Located in the east of Kinshasa, the capital of Congo (Kinshasa), the new city of Congo (Kinshasa) covers a total planned area of 1,340 km2, including about 300 km2 of west area near the Congo River, 260 km2 of central mountainous area and 780 km2 of development reserve land in the east. This planning for the new city focuses on the west area. The west area, centering on the Congo River, forms a radial layout of land use eastwards. The planning focuses on the residential land and arranges the layout in the pattern of neighborhood community. At the same time, there are also large commercial center, administrative center, cultural center, tourism and leisure center, large tourist resorts, medical service center, vocational education center and other municipal facilities. In addition, the planning has chosen a land parcel for 3,000 residences in the region nearest to the current built-up area as the initiating zone of the construction of the new city. While satisfying the requirements for different residence types, the planning pays more attention to the reasonable layout of public service facilities. The commercial service facilities, religious facilities and educational facilities are all arranged in accordance with reasonable service radius.
